Everything in this industry is built to push information down to the job. Almost nothing is built to get it back. One afternoon on the second half of that trade: what got built, who recorded it, and whether anyone can prove it two years from now when the question finally comes up.
Redlines are the record
A marked up sheet is the only proof of what changed on the ground. How that gets captured, stamped, and kept where the next person can actually find it.
As recorded beats as remembered
Station, photo, timestamp, and who was standing there. Field data that holds up in a closeout package, not a version rebuilt from memory in a conference room.
Delivery has a return trip
Models and PDFs go into the job clean. Very little comes back out. This is the year we work on the direction nobody builds for.
