Work Chats by Location

New Chat Tab: Keep your work chats organized by location.

Communication is an important aspect of every project, and a cornerstone of OnStation. Last year we released an innovative feature called Flag & Chat that uses mapping and chat technology for real-time, location-based communication. Flag & Chat is the quickest and easiest way to manage your chats including the notes, pictures, and videos in them.

In the last few months, we combined user feedback and our own innovation to improve on the Flag & Chat experience. I’m proud to announce OnStation’s new Chat tab! The Chat tab provides direct access to all your Flag & Chats! The Chat tab looks and feels like other messaging apps, which makes it familiar and intuitive to use, but unlike other messaging apps, it includes location and organizes all your work chats per project. Want to confirm why there was a field change or if the work was completed and measured?  Simply bounce to that flag and view the history in seconds.

Why chat for communication and documentation? Most people are already doing it on the project, and it works great! Email and forms have ruled for communication and documentation, but we all know or can imagine how much information still isn’t getting collected. In reality it is, it’s just spread out across everyone’s text messages, emails, handwritten notes and more! Think of your chat history as a perfect timeline of events and communication that instantly documents who messaged what and when. Email and forms still have their place, but chat is rapidly increasing and OnStation is ready for it!When you implement OnStation on all of your projects you’re taking the guess work out of it, it’s much easier to document what is happening in the field and the export options will save tons of time and money when you close out the job.  Capture location-based data when it is created…better documentation leads to better outcomes!

We are happy to listen to our users and learn from them the best we can to make this app better every day. Thank you to Mark for taking the time to speak with us and we hope that the rest of your project is made easier with OnStation.
